PEARL AND JEWELRY CARE

1- PEARL CARE

Natural pearls required almost no maintenance to keep their luster and color, unless they went through special treatment to enhance their luster or color. Although they are organic, they are sensitive to chemicals found in cosmetics, hairspray, and perfume only when exposed to a high amount.

Storing Your Pearls Safely:

While pearls are remarkably resilient, they can still be scratched with excessive force. Store them in a compartmentalized jewelry box to prevent damage, making sure to fasten the clasps and pins. For travel, a protective pouch is essential to protect Bails or clasps from being scratched. Remember, pearls thrive when worn, so avoid leaving them locked away for extended periods.

Maintaining Your Pearls:

Regularly inspect your pearl jewelry for any loose components, such as clasps or prongs. In particular, restring necklaces periodically to prevent breakage, even if you wear them infrequently.

Cleaning Your Pearls:

Never use ultrasonic cleaners or any chemical substances, as they can cause irreparable damage. Instead, you can use a soft wet tissue to wipe the pearl to restore its luster to normal.
